International Committee News and Updates

About the International Committee

Goals: The Academy of Management membership profile is at a significant point in its history, where more new members are from outside the US than within. In the near future, the majority of the total membership of AOM may be from outside the US. In this context, the HR Division seeks to integrate and engage its global membership, and to develop and disseminate knowledge that is relevant to management scholars operating both within and outside the U.S. context.

We have ambassadors representing over 50 countries around the world. View a complete list of our international ambassadors.

Co-Chairs:

  • Michal Biron (mbiron@univ.haifa.ac.il)
  • Dana Minbaeva (dm.smg@cbs.dk)
  • David Collings (david.collings@dcu.ie)

Ambassador Program Sub-Committee

Goals: At the AOM Annual Meeting in August 2008, the HR Division launched the ‘Ambassadors Program’. The purpose of the program is to promote the engagement of the HR Division’s global membership. The main goals of the program are to: (a) develop a series of projects which involve, engage, and serve our global membership; (b) leverage knowledge within the division and develop products that contribute to the research, teaching, and service objectives of division members; and (c) promote the division and the AOM in general to scholars around the world.

Co-Chairs:

  • Michal Biron (mbiron@univ.haifa.ac.il)
  • Dana Minbaeva (dm.smg@cbs.dk)

International Conference Sub-Committee

Goals: The international conference sub-committee aims to encourage and help organize HR-related conferences outside of North America. The sub-committee seeks to collaborate with local partners (governmental, commercial, and academic) willing to coordinate and support high-caliber meetings that will draw participation from around the globe.

Pre-Conference Workshop Sub-Committee

Goals: This sub-committee is responsible for developing pre-conference professional development workshop (PDW) sessions for HR Division members which particularly focus on the needs of our international members.

Chair: Liza Castro Christiansen (Liza.Castro-Christiansen@henley.reading.ac.uk)
